A Hands-on Half-Day Surgical Workshop with Practice on Live Animal

Liver transplantation is one of the successful surgical therapies that has made significant advances in treating patients with end-stage liver disease (ESLD) and selected liver malignancies.

This workshop is designed to provide surgical trainees and fellows with the concepts of surgical techniques in liver transplantation, followed by hands-on practice at liver explantation and implantation on live pigs. The standard approaches to liver transplant surgery will be demonstrated and discussed. The backtable preparations of the explanted liver will also be touched upon.
